The Office of Neighborhood Involvement and Neighbors West-Northwest partner to offer the City of Portland’s Neighborhood Small Grants Program within our coalition area. We invite Neighborhood Associations and community-based organizations in Portland to apply.

NWNW prefers:

• Small and mid-range grants: This allows the funds to spread out further in the local community.
• Partnerships: Projects that include partnerships between at least one neighborhood association and at least one community organization will be given additional emphasis in the evaluation process.
• To provide seed money: The coalition would like to promote new projects and creative community ideas, so the same project is eligible only two-years in a row. The second year’s application should demonstrate how the project will grow beyond the first year’s efforts.  

Please Note: The application deadline for the 2009-2010 grant cycle has passed - thank you to all of our applicants. We will be announcing the grant recipients in January. Please check back in the coming months for more information on future grant cycles.

Our goal is to provide such groups an opportunity to expand their community-building capacity, attract new and diverse members and sustain those already involved.
