The Northwest Neighborhood Cultural Center (NNCC) will hold its annual membership meeting at 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 9, 2012. The meeting will take place at the Cultural Center, 1819 NW Everett, in Looking Glass Hall (the lower level reception room).
The agenda will include a presentation relative to ongoing discussions with the Childrens Theater which may lead to a special meeting where NNCC members will be asked to consider a sale of the building to the Childrens Theater on terms substantially different from those considered in 2005. The agenda will also include a membership vote on a proposed bylaw change which would, if approved, reduce the number of neighborhoods from which NNCC draws its members.
Directors for the term beginning in 2012 will be elected. The following candidates have been proposed by the current NNCC Board: Tanya March, Dan Volkmer, Juliet Hyams and Roger Jennings. Additional nominations for Director may be accepted until January 31.
If any member of the corporation wishes to nominate for Directors persons other than those proposed by the Nominating Committee, said member shall do so by delivering to the Secretary not less than ten (10) days prior to the Annual Meeting a petition signed by at least ten (10) members naming the nominee or nominees and stating that each nominee has agreed to serve if elected. The Secretary shall state at the Annual Meeting, prior to the election of directors, the names and qualifications of those nominated by petition.
Nominating petitions may be delivered to the NNCC Secretary at [email protected] or by snail mail at NNCC / P.O. Box 10327 / Portland, OR 97296.
The By Laws limit the maximum number of Directors to eleven. See http://sites.google.com/site/nwnccorg/ for more information on NNCC and membership.
