The Northwest District Association (NWDA) thanks the participants of the first tree inventory work day on July 28. Over 20 volunteers counted the trees in the northwest part of our neighborhood. The NWDA hopes to complete the rest of the district during the three remaining work days and needs your help. Volunteers are needed on the following work days (no skills required):
Saturday, August 25, 8:30am-noon, meet at Friendly House, 1737 NW 26th Ave. (at Thurman St.)
Saturday, September 8, 8:30am-noon, meet at Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center, Bldg. 2, North and South Conference Room, 1040 NW 22nd Avenue
Saturday, September 22, 8:30am-noon, meet at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 147 Northwest 19th Ave.
Volunteer at one or all. Learn more and sign up (required) at http://www.northwestdistrictassociation.org/?p=4101.
It’s a great way to explore the neighborhood, brush up on your tree identification skills, and spend some time with the City’s Urban Forestry staff.
