Northwest Clean Sweep

There will likely be a Clean Sweep in the autumn/winter of 2010, dates are yet to be determined.  The sweep would be similar to that described below, but only once this year.

Up until 2009, Three times per year, the City of Portland conducts the Clean Sweep program for some neighborhoods in inner Northwest and Southwest Portland. This program takes place where on-street parking is highly utilized, preventing regular street cleaning efforts from benefiting the neighborhoods—primarily in Northwest District Association and Goose Hollow Foothills League. Removal of leaves and other debris is necessary to prevent storm water drains from clogging, which can result in street flooding.

City crews will place barricades along streets scheduled to be cleaned at least 24 hours prior to the sweep. Please remove your vehicle from the scheduled sweep area prior to 7:30 a.m. Vehicles in the designated areas after 7:30 a.m. will be towed at the owner’s expense. If your vehicle is towed, expect to pay a minimum of $213 for the citation, the towing fee and storage.

If you plan to be out of town during a Clean Sweep, please plan to have someone move your vehicle. Maps indicating the Clean Sweep areas and dates are available on our website after we’ve received the updates from the City. For more information about your neighborhood and the Clean Sweep, please contact Neighbors West-Northwest at 503.823.4288.

If your vehicle has been towed, contact Portland Police Auto Records after 10:30 a.m. at 503.823.0044.
